About
I, Greg DeRoeck, have been “Rockybound” since the early days of AOL. I’ve been a SharePoint/.NET consultant for almost 2 years now, working on projects from complete customization of SharePoint environments to providing solutions based on specific needs for the business. I work for RBA Consulting which is based out of Minnesota. I moved to Colorado from California in 1997 and worked in Breckenridge as a ski instructor for a season, among 4 other jobs. When I moved to Denver after the 97-98 ski season, I started working for Comcast (formerly AT&T Broadband, formerly AT&T, formerly TCI) and have the distinction of being one of the first 25 customer service reps for what is now Comcast.net. I first got into programming when at Comcast, starting with VBA to customize some MS Access database our supervisors used. From that point on through 12 years, I learned more about OOP, ASP.NET, AJAX, Silverlight and finally SharePoint. I’m excited to start work on a project down in Louisiana for a few months, and will be writing about what I learn and accomplish throughout.
I live with my wife, son (3) and daughter (5 mo) in Castle Rock, Colorado. I’m training for my first marathon in October and hopefully will enjoy a great season of flyfishing, if I get the chance between flying down to LA and spending time with the family.
